Philosophy

Why "Ambata"? In Swahili, the word Ambata means to bridge, connect, or bring together.  Swahili is an African language with multicultural roots.  We chose Ambata because of our goal to build an investment and advisory firm that would bring together Africa, the Middle East, and the rest of the world.

Ambata is a small, focused group of professionals driven by the desire to serve a core group of clients and partners, most of whom have been working with us for many years.  Ambata acts as a bridge between our clients, connecting them to each other and to the investment opportunities that we see.

The Ambata team believes that businesses should act as positive forces for change with the people, communities, and environments in which they operate.  Toward this end, Ambata is committed to developing clean energy and sustainability as core competencies and operating principles in everything we do.  We take issues such as climate change, threats to biodiversity and indigenous peoples, education and literacy very seriously.  We work closely with partners such as World Wildlife Fund, Coalition for Rainforest Nations, Room to Read, and the Shanduka Foundation to actively promote solutions to these global issues.  We hope that our clients and business partners will work with us to make a difference.
